Third party is an individual or group besides the two "parties" primarily involved in a situation, especially a dispute.
Definitions
According to the HRBoK Guide,
- Third party. A term describing those who are not directly involved in a transaction. A person or group in addition to those who are directly involved, such as a company that supplies outsourced services to an organization.
According to the ITIL Foundation 4e by Axelos,
- Third party. A stakeholder external to an organization.
