Web search engine (or, simply, search engine; also incorrectly called Internet search engine) is an end-user application that is designed to query the World Wide Web for particular information specified in a textual web search query.
Definitions
According to the Marketing Communications by Fill (5th edition),
- Search engines. Is a database of many web pages and 'ranks' the results of a search term according to predetermined algorithms.
