4Ps. The meaning can be formulated that way: to offer anything on the market, marketers need to decide what (1) Product the customers get, (2) Price they are asked to pay, (3) Places where they can get information, product itself, and customer support, and (4) Promotion, which is communication describing the Product. Let say, I want to make a friend. My product would be my time which I can give to my friend. My price would be my future friend's time. My place can be a cafeteria on the campus. My promotion would be staying in a class after the lesson for some minutes.

Task 1:

In 2-10 words for each, please give two examples of activities that you personally are going to do. In one example, you would act as a marketer; another should not be related to marketing at all.

Marketers help to facilitate market exchanges between sellers and buyers. So, for your "marketing" activity, please state what is going to be exchanged.

In this class, we mentioned 10 categories that can be marketed -- (1) Goods, (2) Services, (3) Events, (4) Experiences, (5) Persons, (6) Places, (7) Properties, (8) Organizations, (9) Information, and (10) Ideas. And marketers normally look for consumer responses -- purchase, vote, donation, or action. So, when I buy a water bottle in the store, I exchange my money for water.

Assignment: Take any activity that you are going to take as a marketer and answer the following questions:

  1. What is going to be exchanged will be taken from your Task 1 -- no need to answer additionally.
  2. Why should consumers need your product?
  3. Talking about place in the 4Ps, what is its delivery?
  4. Talking about place in the 4Ps, what is its customer support?
  5. Talking about the communication mix, if so, what sales promotion is used?
  6. Talking about the communication mix, if so, what publicity is used?
  7. Talking about the communication mix, if so, what advertising is used?
  8. Talking about the communication mix, if so, what personal selling is used?
  9. If so, how is the market going to be segmented?
  10. How is the offering going to be positioned?

Please use #1, #2, #3, etc. format to indicate what question you are responding to.
