An AAAA record (alternatively spelled, AAAA Record or "AAAA" record; also known as DNS AAAA record or, simply, AAAA; hereinafter, AAAA) is the DNS record that specifies the IPv6 address that corresponds to the domain name. The four "A"s in this record type represent the fact that the maximum number of IPv6 addresses (128 bits) is four times the maximum number of IPv4 addresses (32 bits).
