Enrollments

Enrollment is the process of marking users as participants of a course or assigning users roles in a course such as Student or Teacher.

Enrollment Plugins

CNM Cert provides a number of ways of managing course enrollment, called enrollment plugins. These include;

• Manual enrollment - the Administrator or Course teacher adds users manually.
• Self enrollment - a user can choose to enroll him/herself into a course
• Cohort Sync - users are part of a Cert cohort which is added to the course
• Course meta link - users enrolled in other courses are given automatic access.
• Guest access - users can view course materials but not participate.
• Category enrollment - users are enrolled in all courses in a category.
• External database - users are enrolled from a database such as Access, MySQL
• Flat File - users are enrolled with a CSV file.
• IMS Enterprise - users are enrolled with this standard XML file format.
• LDAP Enrollment - users are authenticated and then enrolled through LDAP.
• MNet Enrollments - users are enrolled via a linked Moodle site.
• PayPal - users purchase enrollment with Paypal

Setting Enrollment Method

To set method or methods used to enroll into a course:

Click on Administration > Site administration > Plugins > Enrolments > Manage enroll plugins.

• Click on the enable check boxes opposite your chosen enrollment plugin(s). If you wish, you may choose more than one enrollment method. For example if you have some courses which students must pay for and some free courses, you can use PayPal and self enrollment.
• Click the "Save changes" button
• Click the settings link opposite the enrollment plugin(s) you have chosen.
• Configure the required settings and click the "Save changes" button.
• Repeat this process to all plugins you have enabled.
