Educational method (hereinafter, the Method) is a method used in education. The Methods can be divided in three groups: (a) conceptual instruction, (b) practical instruction, and (c) active learning.

Conceptual instruction
(sometimes, referred as direct instruction) such as lecturing, demonstrating, storytelling, and self-directed learning of target concepts
Lecturing
Storytelling
Self-directed learning
Practical instruction
such as hands-on training, directed research, and formative assessment such as structured feedback or debriefing
Hands-on training
Directed research
Formative assessment
Demonstrating
Active learning
(or discovery learning) such as discussion, observation (both unstructured observation and place-based education), and project-based learning (or maker education).
