Quality assurance are those activities associated with assuring the quality of a product or service.

According to Managing Quality by Foster (6th edition),

Quality assurance. Those activities associated with assuring the quality of a product or service.

According to the BABOK Guide (3rd edition),

Quality assurance. A set of activities performed to ensure that a process will deliver products that meet an appropriate level of quality.
