Report acknowledgment

A report acknowledgment (hereinafter, the Acknowledgment) is the statement that recognizes those who assisted in developing of a report. The Acknowledgment is the only conditional part of report content. The Acknowledgment is included when the report creators believe that it is significant. When the Acknowledgment is included, it is a closing part of report's front matter.

Description

The ANSI/NISO Scientific and Technical Reports standard details,

Acknowledgments of technical assistance that contributed to the content of the report are made at an appropriate place in the preface or in the text; however, lengthy acknowledgments are often made in a conditional section titled "Acknowledgments." This section follows the preface, in which case the preface does not contain acknowledgments. If there is no preface, "Acknowledgments" follows the contents section (or list(s) of figures and tables and foreword).
