Service validation and testing practice (hereinafter, the Practice) is the practice to ensure that new or changed products and services meet defined requirements. The Practice relates to testing, validation, and service management. This Practice is a part of the ITIL practices.

According to the ITIL Foundation 4e by Axelos,

Service validation and testing practice. The practice of ensuring that new or changed products and services meet defined requirements.
