Service design practice (hereinafter, the Practice) is the practice to design products and services that are fit for purpose, fit for use, and that can be delivered by the organization and its ecosystem. The Practice relates to product design and service management. This Practice is a part of the ITIL practices.

According to the ITIL Foundation 4e by Axelos,

Service design practice. The practice of designing products and services that are fit for purpose, fit for use, and that can be delivered by the organization and its ecosystem.
