IP address
An IP address is the address of a computing device or another web resource in the Internet that corresponds to the conventional Internet protocol (IP). When a World Wide Web visitor types in a domain name, such as "cnmcyber.com", the web browser looks in the DNS zone for the IP address to which the domain name is bound. IPv4 addresses correspond to IPv4 or IP, version 4. IPv6 addresses correspond to IPv6 or IP, version 6. Internet service providers (ISPs) lease public addresses to hosting providers and/or domain name registrars for re-selling, or, directly, to end customers.
