Data center

A data center (also known by its acronym, DC) is either:

• The premises such as a building or another physical location where the computing devices of one or more organizations are housed, or
• The organization itself who takes care of these computing devices.

DC vary in their storage capacity. The clients usually access their devices through some shell, primarily, SSH.

Tools

• rsync, a tool for comparing files on different servers.
• SCP, a tool to transfer data over an encrypted connection.
