Standing operating procedure -- is a set of written instructions that describes the step-by-step process that must be taken to properly perform a routine activity.
- Standing operating procedure should be written for each CNM Cloud Usable endeavor and each CNM COTS product.
- SOP is a description of what the contractor who maintains the product should do and what steps should be taken if the contractor does not.
- For our COTS installations, the SOP should describe monitoring, backups and their frequency, taking snapshots and their frequency, upgrading and patching, disaster recovery, periodic survivability checks, holding User Groups meetings and distributing news there.
