A primary nameserver (alternatively spelled, primary name server; also known as master nameserver or master domain server; hereinafter, the Server) is any authoritative nameserver that is responsible for a particular DNS zone and doesn't need any other nameserver to obtain any DNS records. Vice versa, secondary nameservers and recursive nameservers use the Servers in order to obtain DNS records.
