Entry

An entry is the act of entering a place or market or joining a particular group or enterprise. An entry may also refer to a means for that entering or joining.

A market entry is beginning and/or expanding production. A barrier to entry refers to a fixed cost or another impediment that must be incurred by a new entrant, regardless of production or sales activities, into a market that incumbents do not have or have not had to incur.
