Pull production is when the flow of production is regulated by customer need. Parts or products are not released at any stage of production until the immediate customer or stage of the process has a need for them.
Definition
According to Managing Quality by Foster (6th edition),
- Pull production. The flow of production is regulated by customer need. Parts or products are not released at any stage of production until the immediate customer or stage of the process has a need for them.
