Elicitation is iterative derivation and extraction of information from stakeholders or other sources.

- Elicitation. An activity within requirements development that identifies sources for requirements and then uses elicitation techniques (for example, interviews, prototypes, facilitated workshops, documentation studies) to gather requirements from those sources.
