Side Channel Attack is side Channel Attack An attack based on information gained from the implementation of a system (e.g., that of a cryptographic algorithm) rather than weaknesses in the algorithm (e.g., those discovered via cryptanalysis). Side Channel Attacks can be mounted based on monitoring data or key dependent variations in execution time, power consumption or electromagnetic radiation of integrated circuits.

According to the CyBOK (version 1),
- Side Channel Attack. Side Channel Attack An attack based on information gained from the implementation of a system (e.g., that of a cryptographic algorithm) rather than weaknesses in the algorithm (e.g., those discovered via cryptanalysis). Side Channel Attacks can be mounted based on monitoring data or key dependent variations in execution time, power consumption or electromagnetic radiation of integrated circuits.
