User Identities at Cyber (hereinafter, the Lectio) is the lesson part of the CNM Cabin Essentials lesson that introduces its participants to CNM Cabin. This lesson belongs to the CNM Cyber for Experience session of the CNM Cyber Orientation.

Content

The predecessor lectio is CNM Cloud SSO.

Key terms

User account. In systems engineering, a system document that authorizes a particular end-user to access and use this system. From the user perspective, a user account is the means by which this user can access the system.
  • User alias. An assumed or additional name that is assigned by the system or user, for instance, to use when the username is inappropriate to use. A user alias that the user assigns to him- or herself for convenience of other users is often called a screen name.

Script

Your username and password are parts of your user identity at CNM Cyber. They are firmly associated with your user account. CNM Cabin stores your user data; CNM Cabin must protect your privacy.
On the technology side, the administrators of CNM Cyber are required to follow general cyber-security rules -- all its software is regularly updated, new patches are timely applied, constant monitoring is in place, and so on.
On the human side, each administrator who works on CNM Cyber generally and CNM Cabin especially is required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that legally binds this administrator to keep your information secret.
CNM Cyber is the place for learning. Every learner asks questions that some may view "stupid" and makes mistakes that some may view "shameful." To set your learning curiosity free, CNM Cabin will assign you a user alias, which will serve as your assumed student name within the CNM Competency Suite. It will look like a normal name, so even your username will be protected. CNM Cabin generates only gender-neutral names. The username you chose when you created your account would emerge at the other services such as CNM Mail or CNM Venture.
By default, CNM Cyber collects no personal data. Neither you nor anyone else has been required to submit the real name, date of birth, place of residency, etc. Your user data will be kept in secret unless you choose to disclose it.

System-User Roles is the successor lectio.
