Educational method (hereinafter, the Method) is a method used in education. The Methods can be divided in three groups:

  1. Conceptual instruction (sometimes, referred as direct instruction) such as lecturing, demonstrating, storytelling, and self-directed learning of target concepts;
  2. Practical instruction such as hands-on training, directed research, formative assessment such as structured feedback or debriefing;
  3. Experiential learning (or discovery learning) such as discussion, observation (both unstructured observation and place-based education), and project-based learning (or maker education).
