A Careerprise conference (particularly known as Careerprise vendor conference; hereinafter, the Event) is a WorldOpp event of Friends Of CNM (hereinafter, the Buyer) organized by one or more WorldOpp event hosts (hereinafter, the Host) in order to:

  1. Clarify the requirements for WorldOpp development and/or other developments that the Buyer is willing to order;
  2. Discuss any administrative challenges that potential and/or actual Careerprise vendors face in their work for the Buyer.

The Event can be considered as some combination of pre-bid meeting, preaward meeting, and postaward meetings. The Event can also be used for recruitment and/or debriefing. Unless the Event is Invitation-only, the Tech Events for Managers and Entrepreneurs meetup group and WorldOpp fb-page serve as primary Communication channels (hereinafter, the Channels).


Purpose

The Buyer finances WorldOpp development and, as a part of that endeavor, hires Careerprise vendors to work on Careerprise business opportunities. The purpose of the Event is to:

  1. On the Buyer's side, hire and/or retain Careerprise vendors; and
  2. On the side of aspiring and/or actual Careerprise vendors, obtain Buyer's business and/or get helped in providing the Buyer with the vendors' services.

Participants' requirements

Any participant (a newbie, team member, and/or team administrator) needs to be able to:
  1. Know when the Events occur and how he or she can participate in those;
  2. Be introduced to as much information as possible prior to the Event the interested individual decides to participate in;
  3. Ask qualified questions and get answers first-hand;
  4. Review minutes and other documents if the interested individual misses the Event.

Potential vendors' requirements

Any potential Careerprise vendor needs to be able to:
  1. Obtain missing requirements for the projects of their interests if these requirements exist;
  2. Present their bids and discuss any issues with them;
  3. Obtain available details on the contract awarding process.

Actual vendors' requirements

Any actual Careerprise vendor needs to be able to:
  1. Discuss any issues with their bids and administrative issues with their projects;
  2. Contribute to solutions for those projects that have been discussed.

The Buyer's requirements

The Buyer needs to be able to:
  1. Know the obstacles the team faces in order to work on those;
  2. Know the general progress on the projects in order to report it.

Operations

Pre-event operations

The primary platform to conduct pre-event operations is the designated Channel. Prior to the Event:
  1. If special participants are going to be invited to the Event, they need to be identified, contacted, and confirmed;
  2. The physical location shall have been booked and/or online room has been created;
  3. All of the Time details and Price details shall be identified and communicated;
  4. Recording tool shall have been identified and prepared;
The Host is also responsible for cancelling of the Event if no participant RSVPs.

Event operations

The primary platform to conduct event operations is the booked location for onsite Events and Jitsi for online Events. During the Event, the Host shall:
  1. "Meet" and greet the participants;
  2. Facilitate the Event;
  3. Make sure that participants audio, video messages, and chat messages are identified and responded;
  4. Make sure that the Event is recorded.

Post-event operations

The primary platform to conduct post-event operations is CNM Wiki. After the Event,
  1. The recording of the Event shall be posted at YouTube;
  2. The wikipage shall be composed to include all available data of and about the Event including its minutes and link to its audio- and videorecords, as well as organizing lessons learned;
  3. A follow-up message shall be sent to those Event's participants who RSVPed for the Event.

Time details

Start time

The online Events shall start at 11am EST (American East Cost), which is 6pm EAT (Eastern African Time) and so on. The onsite Events can start at any time between 9am and 7pm EST if organized in the Washington DC metro area. However, no two Events can be planned simultaneously. The Host who organizes the particular Event is supposed to check the calendar of the Group and the FB Page in order to comply.

Length

No length requirements have established yet. Some suggestions can be the following:
  1. From 45 minutes to one hour for online only Events;
  2. From one hour to 90 minutes for onsite Events.

Calendar

When it is launched, worldopp.org will serve as the official calendar for the Events. The calendars of the Channels can be used temporarily as the calendars.

Price details

Costs to the participants

As any WorldOpp event, the Event shall be offered at absolutely no cost to its participants.

Reimbursement to special guests

Contingent upon mutual agreements and funding, special guests can be reimbursed for their participation. The special guests shall be invited personally and their participation shall be negotiated in advance.

Participants

Participants of the Event are aspiring and/or actual Careerprise vendors. By default, the Host is a confirmed participant of any Event. Personally, the Host may identify, contact, and confirm those participants that would be specially invited to the Event.

Open-to-the-Public Events

Unless they are the Host or special guests, participants of those Events that are open to the public shall be invited through the designated Channel, but may choose to participate or not to participate.
Any individual including employment candidates (primarily residing in Kenya and only English speakers for now), aspiring volunteers (primarily residing in the Washington DC metro area), contractors, and partners of the Buyer who is interested in becoming a staffer one day is usually welcome to participate.
The Buyer shall not collect private information such as actual name, social network, Skype and/or email credentials from the participants. During the Events, they may or may not identify or misidentify themselves; their emails and/or other contacts shall not be available for the Host or other participants.

Invitation-only Events

The Host may choose to organize the Event that would be closed to the general public and all of its participants would be personally invited.

Communication channels

With regard to the announcement and other communication Channels,
  1. For Open-to-the-Public Events,
  2. For Invitation-only Events, communication Channels, usually email or text messages or phone conversations, are selected based on a choice of the participants.
CNM Wiki (hereinafter, the Wiki) serves as the main platform for contents of the Events including their minutes and recordings.

Agenda

The agenda is proposed by future participants, Friends Of CNM DevOps Administrator, and/or the Host. Its official version shall be published at the designated Channel. By default, any Event consists of one or more parts:

1 General Q&A session
  • Undefined; but the Event shall end within one hour;
  • All of unresolved topics shall be either handled after the Event or moved to the next Event
2 Vendor-driven Q&A session
  • Topics are related to administrative issues with the projects that are both authorized and funded by the Buyer;
  • Only Careerprise vendors can ask questions.
3 Vendor pitches
  • Topics are related to authorized and funded projects;
  • One by one, those aspiring Careerprise vendors who would like to offer their services, pitch the Buyer;
  • The sequence of the pitches is defined by the agenda created in advance on the first-come-first-served basis.
4 Buyer-driven Q&A session
  • Topics are related to the pitched offers;
  • Everyone, especially the Buyer, can ask questions.
5 Buyer's reflections and debriefings
  • Topics are related to the pitched offers;
  • The summary or, vice versa, the expanded version is published on CNM Wiki.
All of the presentations are pre-recorded and supposed to be viewed by the attendees before they arrive.

Format

The Events are usually organized simultaneously onsite to accommodate those who needs face-to-face interactions and online to accommodate those attendees who choose to participate remotely. Any onsite Event should be accompanied by an online Event, but not every online Event should be a Event onsite.

Onsite

The onsite events can be organized only if the Host can physically attend the Event or Friends Of CNM DevOps Administrator personally is the Host. The Events shall usually be scheduled to occur in either:
  1. The cafeteria of McLean Bible Church in Vienna, Virginia;
  2. Any other public space such as libraries, restaurants, parks, etc.
By default, the announcements should be published at the designated Channel. They can also be published at the Career Network Ministry meetup group. The cut-off RSVP shall be set at about 24 hours prior to the event and, if no member RSVPed, the onsite location of the Event shall be cancelled, so the Event shall be online only.

Online

  • The Events shall be broadcasted via Jitsi, which is selected as the webconferencing software for the Events. The announcements shall usually be published at http://worldopp.org when such an opportunity is technically available. Until it is, the Channel can be temporarily used.
  • If no new attendee RSVPed, the first part of the Event shall be cancelled. If no one, but the Host attends, the Event shall be cancelled.
  • The attendees may or may not choose to use their video; however, the Host shall be visible.

Materials

Notifications

The Group publishes all the announcement and notifications for onsite Events and the FB Page does so for online Events in order at serves as a hub and/or notice board to reach out to potential and actual participants.

Content

The Wiki publishes all the content of the Event including its specific agenda, minutes and all available recordings. The recordings can also be published at YouTube in order to be available to the general public.
