Agile Agile refers to a group of principles and practices that promote a disciplined project management process that encourages frequent inspection and adaptation, a leadership philosophy that encourages teamwork, self‐organization and accountability, a set of engineering practices intended to allow for rapid delivery of high‐quality software, and a business approach that aligns development with customer needs and company goals. Agile. According to the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook (4th edition),

Agile. Project execution methods can be described on a continuum from "adaptive" to "predictive." Agile methods exist on the "adaptive" side of this continuum, which is not the same as saying that agile methods are "unplanned" or "undisciplined".
