Control process is a three-step process of measuring actual performance, comparing actual performance against a standard, and taking managerial action to correct deviations or inadequate standards.

According to Management by Robbins and Coulter (14th edition),

According to Managing Quality by Foster (6th edition),

Control process. A process that involves gathering process data, analyzing process data, and using this information to make adjustments to the process.
