Version control system

Version control system (also known by its acronym VCS; alternatively known as revision control system or, simply, version control; hereinafter, the System) is the system that is set to control versions or revisions of products or a group of activities collectively known as version control. The System controls changes to documents, files, software codes, and other collections of data.
