A record

An A record (alternatively spelled, A Record or "A" record; also known as DNS A record; hereinafter, the Record) is the DNS record that specifies the IPv4 address that corresponds to the domain name. The letter "A" in the name of the record, the so-called record type, came into the name from the first letter of the English word "address" (address).
