Stereotyping is judging someone on the basis of our perception of the group to which that person belongs.

According to Organizational Behavior by Robbins and Judge (17th edition),

Stereotyping. Judging someone on the basis of our perception of the group to which that person belongs.

According to Management by Robbins and Coulter (14th edition),

Stereotyping. Judging a person based on a perception of a group to which that person belongs.

According to Looking Out, Looking In by Adler, Proctor (15th edition),

Stereotyping. Categorizing individuals according to a set of characteristics assumed to belong to all members of a group.
