Service-oriented architecture (also known by its acronym, SOA) is any concept of systems engineering that features three principles: (a) all systems of one system of systems are discrete, are able to operate independently, and have clear and simple interfaces to connect to the orchestration system, (b) the orchestration system is able to orchestrate various systems of the system of systems, and (c) all the systems use communication protocols.
