A baseline is anything that serves as a starting point against which progress or change can be assessed. Particularly, a baseline may also refer to:
- In Belgium, a tagline that introduces a market exchangeable to its potential customers.
- In business analysis, requirements baseline
- In project management and systems engineering, a performance measurement baseline, which integrates project scope baseline, project schedule baseline, and project cost baseline, as well as any of those.
In quality management, baselining is also the process of monitoring internal metrics over time.
