Experiment is a procedure carried out to support, refute, or validate a hypothesis. Experiments are commonly undertaken in order to make a discovery, test a hypothesis, or demonstrate a known fact.

- Experiment. Elicitation performed in a controlled manner to make a discovery, test a hypothesis, or demonstrate a known fact.
Types
- Pilot experiment (also known as pilot study or pilot project). A small-scale preliminary experiment conducted in order to approximate feasibility, time, cost, adverse events, and improve upon the feasibility study design prior to performance of a full-scale research project.
