CNM Wiki Essentials (hereinafter, the Lesson) is the primary learning activity of CNM Cyber that introduces its participants to CNM Wiki. The Lesson is the fifth of twelve activities that are designed to prepare its participants to the CNM Cyber Entrance Exam. All of those activities belong to the CNM Cyber Welcome Course.
The Lesson is preceded by the CNM Video Essentials and succeeded by CNM Cert Essentials. The Lesson is made up of five lectios. At CNM Cyber, the word, lectio, is used for a lesson part.

What CNM Wiki Is
What CNM Wiki Is is the first lectio out of five ones that make up the Lesson.
Lectio 1 presentation
- CNM Wiki is the document collaboration system that CNM Cyber brings to you as a service. Document collaboration systems usually help multiple people work together on single documents to achieve their distinguished latest versions. When you are at CNM Wiki, you can click "edit" and contribute to its content.
- Wiki is a Hawaiian word meaning quick and refers to fast editing of the content. CNM Cert, CNM Lab, and CNM Social also provide their users with wikipages.
- There are two types of document collaboration systems. Collaborative realtime editors such as Google Docs and other web-based office suites belong to one type.
- CNM Cyber's document collaboration system utilizes another type, wiki engine, because of two reasons. First of all, wiki is more widespread in the information technology industry. Second, wiki engines are robust when it comes to tracking, which is vital in the learning process.

Wiki's Version Control
Wiki's Version Control is the second lectio out of five ones that make up the Lesson.
Lectio 2 presentation
- Using its version control tool, CNM Wiki tracks different versions of those textual documents that have been developed there. This feature is called "history." Using that feature, older versions can be accessed and any revision can be "undo" or reversed.
- If you go to the top of any wikipage at CNM Wiki, you can see on some right the View history tab. If you open it, you should be able to see every revision which has ever been made on the wikipage. For instance, you can find the oldest one to see when the particular wikipage was created and even how it looked like when it was created.

- For images, CNM Wiki has its software repository. If you click on any image at CNM Wiki, you should be able to find original files, as well as who and when uploaded them.

- CNM Wiki belongs to the Competency Suite. However, its features such as talk pages, software repository, version control, make this service a development hub. Another development hub within CNM Cyber is CNM Lab.
- CNM Wiki plays a vital role in both learning by making and CNM Cyber development. For example, this CNM Cyber Welcome Course was developed at CNM Wiki before it was published at CNM Cert.
