- Software systems are likely the default choice for searches at today's workplace; and internal systems are often utilized first. The corporate systems may be enterprise-wide or standalone.
- An ERP human resources module is a system for human resource management that is integrated into a larger enterprise management system. Normally, this module is built on enterprise resource planning software (ERP software) and features recruitment support.
- Those standalone systems that accommodate recruitment are known as applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- A few external resources can be used to search for potential candidates. Several job-search websites such as LinkedIn and Glassdoor sell recruiter's access to their databases.
