A WordPress plugin is a software component that adds a specific feature to an WordPress instance.

Instagram plugins

Commonly, the Instagram Plugins fetch data from one's Instagram account in order to display the feed as a basic grid. Follow and Load more buttons can be optionally added. Administrators usually can choose how many images to include and what size those images shall have.
More advanced features may also include capacities to:
  • Fetch hashtags, not just Instagram accounts
  • Display the feed in the design elements beyond a basic grid. These elements may include carousels, masonry, highlights, etc.
  • Filter and moderate posts.
