Situational control is the capacity of a decision maker to manage a particular situation and estimate the likelihood of certain outcomes.

  • Certainty. A situation in which a decision maker can make accurate decisions because all the data and outcomes are known.
  • Uncertainty. A situation in which a decision maker has neither certainty nor reasonable probability estimates available.
