Any WorldOpp joint venture (alternatively known as WorldOpp JV or WOJV; hereinafter, WOJV) is a joint venture created by two parties, one of which is Friends Of CNM (hereinafter, the Alliance) and another (hereinafter, the Host) is some legal entity, which is either located outside of the Washington DC metro area or execute a business model different from the Alliance's one. Any WOJV is characterized by shared ownership, shared returns and risks, and shared governance.
Purpose
WOJV can be created because of one or more reasons as follows:
- To access new markets. Most likely, the Alliance would like to access potential recruits in the area of the Host location and offers the Host to access potential customers in the Washington, DC metro area.
- To gain scale efficiencies by combining assets and operations.
- To share risk for major investments or projects.
- To access each other's competencies.
