In view of the above, we propose to start a pilot project in Kisii County which is one of the forty seven counties in Kenya. This process will create a foundation of the project in Kenya for effective planning on how to open up new branches in the country so as to reach many vulnerable people.

WorldOpp designation is the action of choosing a country or place for launching the WorldOpp programme.

Roadmap

In any country, there are specific policy guidelines on how projects are run and the roadmap below must be adhered to for purposes of avoiding conflict with the national and/or local governments.

  1. Develop a local website.
  2. Choose an entry point. This point can be either through an existing organization or not-for-profit to avoid a lot of legal processes that might take too long to achieve the planned interventions.
  3. Define a starting point. At this level, a local office with professional staff can be established in order to reach out to the community with WorldOpp mission, vision, objectives and operations. A specific region such as Kisii County, which is one of the forty seven counties in Kenya, can be selected to pilot the project and, after this piloting, the project can be rolled out to other counties to reach the target audiences. This process would create a foundation of the project in a local country for effective planning on how to open up new offices if the project expands.
  4. d). In the same identified county of pilot project, we propose to do a baseline survey which will help us develop a framework for implementation. We will assess WorldOpp project based on strength, weaknesses, opportunity and threats commonly known as SWOT Analysis in Kenyan version.

e). we will thereafter conduct meetings with community stakeholders (Kenya government officers, local leaders representing churches, civil society organizations, target groups of people) in Kisii county. They will informed about the baseline survey findings and also make a sustainable recommendation how best they would wish the WorldOpp projects will be run. This will post public participation as enshrined in Kenyan Laws. At the same time this promote project ownership by the local people and open up the WorldOpp operation process such as illustrated below Vulnerable group identification- Recruitment of vulnerable group- Admission of vulnerable group-Skills training for vulnerable groups- Graduation of vulnerable groups- Employment of vulnerable groups- Project sustainability. Kindly check on what we have as our tentative decision.
