Friends Of CNM's trade mark

CNM Digital Essentials is the last presentation of the Welcome to Friends Of CNM session. The session itself is the first in WorldOpp Orientation. Consequently, the Orientation is the first stage of WorldOpp Pipeline.

This wikipage presents its full script and those test questions that are related to that presentation.

Overview

Welcome to CNM Digital Essentials. In this brief presentation, we are going to define CNM Digital and take a look at its separate online services such as its open wiki, campus, websites, and its private hub called Fixett. We will also make a stop by Opplet.net, which is the primary dashboard that unites all the systems at one place. Let's begin.

What CNM Digital is

CNM Digital is online services that the Friends Of CNM brings to patrons of the Career Network Ministry, also known as CNM. These services particularly include CNM Wiki, CNM Campus, Fixett, and CNM websites.
We will take a look at these services one-by-one starting with Fixett.

Fixett

Fixett is the private development hub. This hub combines a project management system, collaborative knowledge system, software repository, and version control system.
Why does it have a piggy bank icon? Because this service is the place where vendors make money when they deliver their works. The Welcome to WorldOpp Team presentation covers this process in better details.

Wiki vs Fixett

Now, CNM Wiki. This development hub looks like similar to Fixett, but the key difference is that Fixett is closed to the public, while CNM Wiki is open. That is why you are able to see CNM Wiki 24 hours a day and seven days a week at any time. No passwords are needed just go and view. At the same time, you wouldn't be able to see anything at Fixett unless you are a developer of CNM Digital.
CNM Wiki also combines a collaborative knowledge system and software repository. However, the wiki repository can store image files only. For instance, the images we are using in this presentation are image files uploaded to CNM Wiki. If we click on any image here, we can see original files, as well as who and when uploaded them.
Lastly, CNM Wiki also contains a version control system. If we go to the top of the page, we can see the View history tab. If we click there and open a new widow, we can see every revision which has ever been made on the page. There are many revisions and we can click on the oldest and we can see that this particular page we are on right now was created on which date and we can see how it looked like when it was created.

Fixett vs Wiki

Now, let's compare backwards, Fixett to CNM Wiki. Fixett's version control system is dedicated, so we can see that this is more sophisticated in comparison with CNM Wiki. Fixett's software repository can contain not only image files, but any type of single files and even software development projects.
Fixett also has its collaborative knowledge system, but it is not dedicated. It is integrated into projects, so only a particular project team can collaborate on the content for that project.
Nevertheless, privacy can be considered as the main difference between Fixett and CNM Wiki. Fixett is private primarily because it stores highly sensitive information that cannot be open to the public. Fixett has to be cyber-secure in order to provide CNM Digital with cyber-security. CNM Wiki has to be open in order to accommodate everyone, even pre-entry-level developers.
Fixett accommodates more advanced developers, while allowing select team members to collaborate on select projects. CNM Wiki doesn't have and is not supposed to have this feature.
The illustration table mentions that discussion pages of CNM Wiki can be used for project management. So, if we scroll up next to the page, we can see the "Discussion" tab. If we click on it, we can get to the talks that Internet visitors rarely open. If you are collaborating with someone on the page, you can write, "guys take a look at something" so those people who you are collaborating with should be able to see it. So, this feature can mimic a project management system though it was not designed to be a project management system per se.

Campus

In order to get to CNM Campus, let's type campus.ksacerts.com -- it is see-a-em-pee-u-ess-dot-kay-ess-a-see-ee-ar-tee-ess-dot-com. We should be able to get to the campus service which for now has some courses like Welcome to Friends Of CNM, Principles of Accounting, and Organizational Behavior. You can see only standalone courses that don't require any prerequisites. When you get graduated from Welcome to Friends Of CNM, the system will automatically enroll you into WorldOpp Orientation, and so on.
CNM Campus is where the exams are posted and credentials are issued. One day you should be able to, but, for now, you can see that I can get to the courses, download textbooks, take quizzes, et cetera.

Websites

CNM websites is the next service we are moving to. , for now at the moment we don`t have a website. The website is built on single content management system and that means that its purpose is only displaying information to its users. It`s not for technical collaboration or learning, you cannot post exam there. This is just to display information, reach out to potential members or potential users and to bring them there.

Dashboard

The last piece is Opplet.net. This is the central dashboard of CNM Digital. When you click on the picture under Opplet.net. This is a graphic representation of all the system. You can see the dashboard in green on your right. So, Opplet.net allows accessing a software piece which is called opplet which is the middle ware. It combines all other systems together. It contains all the profiles for users, it manages user access and it collects all the data from all other systems. Technically if you for instance forget your password and try to restore with the websites or the wiki, or campus or whatever technically the opplet will do this job. And to access opplet, you cannot access opplet through website, campus, wiki or fixett you use the dashboard which is opplet.net.

Summary

This concludes the CNM Digital Essentials presentation. We have defined CNM Digital and taken a look at its various systems such as Fixett, CNM Wiki, CNM Campus and CNM websites. We have also distinguished those services that are private and those that are open to the general public. Finally, we have made a stop by its central dashboard called Opplet.net.
